FeFol Spansules is a dietary supplement that contains ferrous sulphate (150mg) and folic acid (0.5mg). FeFol Spansules are used for the prevention of iron and folic acid deficiencies during pregnancy.
Fefol Spansule is a haematinic. Four-fifths of the dose of iron is specially formulated for sustained release over a period of several hours. Fefol Spansule Capsules are formulated to release most of the iron in the upper small intestine where absorption is greatest, and not in the stomach where gastric irritation may be caused.
Dose:
Take one Fefol Spansule capsule a day throughout pregnancy. Some pregnant patients may need a higher prophylactic dose of iron because of dietary or other factors.
Do not crush or chew regular, coated, or extended-release tablets, and do not open regular or extended-release capsules; swallow them whole.
