Travatan Z (Travoprost) Ophthalmic solution (travoprost ophthalmic solution 0.004%) is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who may be intolerant to other intraocular pressure lowering medications or for whom other medications do not sufficiently lower IOP. Travatan Z (Travoprost) solution is a new formulation that replaces benzalkonium chloride (BAK) with a preservative system that is gentle to the ocular surface.
The most common side effect of Travatan Z (Travoprost) solution is red eyes, but patients may also experience decreased visual acuity, eye pain and blurred vision, as well as other effects.
