Droxia (Hydroxyurea) is a selective antimetabolite used to prevent painful crises and the need for blood transfusions in adults with sickle cell anemia.
Droxia (Hydroxyurea) side effects that are most commonly reported are nausea, loss of appetite, constipation, redness of the face, change in nail color, drowsiness, or dizziness. You may or may not experience these side effects or other side effects. All adverse effects need to be discussed with your prescribing physician. If you experience painful mouth sores, disorientation, hallucinations, or seizures seek emergency help immediately.
It is important to drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday!
