Restylane is a Swedish produced gel that is injected into the skin in order to add volume to lips and lift up wrinkles and folds. Restylane is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid.
Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body. Restylane gives volume to the skin, lubricates the joints and gives the eyes their shape. The hylaluronic acid in Restylane is stabilized for long duration and is not of animal or human origin.
*Restylane is recommended for wrinkle correction and lip enhancements.
*Restylane Fine Lines is used to correct thin, superficial lines about the eyes, mouth, forehead and smile areas.
*Restylane Perlane is designed to shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, correct deep folds and for volume augmentation of the lips.
Restylane contains hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in the human body, that plays an important role in giving firmness to the skin, shape to the eyes and lubrication to the joints. Hyaluronic acid has the important ability to attract and bind to water molecules to help maintain volume.
Restylane utilizes NASHA-Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid-the first stable, biodegradable, non-animal hyaluronic acid. As a non-animal product, there is limited risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction for those who are sensitive to foods such as beef, chicken, or eggs.

Restylane contains trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and should not be used by patients with a history of allergies to such material. Restylane should also not be used by patients with severe allergies manifested by history of anaphylaxis, or a history or presence of multiple severe allergies.
