FreeStyle blood glucose monitoring system will test blood from your upper arms, thighs, calves, and hands as well as your fingers. These areas contain less pain receptors than the fingers, and so you feel less pain. The manufacturers recommend that the fingers should be used for blood testing for low blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia) and for anyone who does not feel the signs of hypoglycaemia coming on.
If you are testing for hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose), or if you suffer from hypoglycaemia unawareness, the manufacturers still recommend that you test on your fingers.

DIRECTIONS TO USE FREESTYLE DIABETIC SYSTEM:
1. Insert the test strip, and the meter automatically turns itself on.
2. Rub the test site vigorously until you feel it get warm, then lance with the FreeStyle lancing device.
3. Touch on edge of the test strip gently to the blood sample until the meter beeps, indicating the strip is full.
