Lecithin is a fatty substance that provides the body with a source of choline (in a form known as phosphatidylcholine) - choline is an essential nutrient that belongs to the B vitamin family. Choline is incorporated into cell membranes, and is an important nutrient required by the brain. It also acts as a “building block” for acetylcholine, which is a chemical in the brain that plays a role in memory. Lecithin (and choline) may help treat a variety of gallbladder and liver disorders - for example, lecithin forms part of bile (a substance that digests fat) and as a result, taking lecithin supplements may help to prevent the formation of gallstones.
Directions:
Take 1 capsule, twice daily with a meal
Benefits:
Lecithin is also need for proper liver functioning - it helps to prevent fats from building up in the liver and improves the flow of fat and cholesterol through the liver and gallbladder (this helps the liver to remove harmful toxins from the body). As such, the main benefits of lecithin supplements are that they support healthy brain and liver functioning.
